Drug Interactions With Acebutolol

A number of medications may cause acebutolol drug interactions, including clonidine, reserpine, calcium channel blockers, and certain allergy or cold medicines. These interactions can increase your risk of developing dangerously low blood pressure, extremely slow heart rate, and other serious problems. In order to help limit these interactions, be sure to tell your healthcare provider about all other medications you are taking.

An Overview of Acebutolol Drug Interactions

Acebutolol hydrochloride (Sectral®) can potentially interact with several other medications. Some of these medicines that may lead to interactions with acebutolol include:
 
  • Alpha blockers (or medications with alpha-blocking activity), including:

 

 

 

 

  • Certain cold and allergy medications, such as:

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Reserpine.
