Hair Loss and Amiodarone

Using amiodarone (Cordarone®, Pacerone®, Nexterone®) can cause hair loss in some people. Fortunately, this is a rare side effect of the medication, occurring in less than 1 percent of people who took it during clinical studies.
In most cases, side effects of amiodarone tend to be mild and easy to treat. Because it is difficult to predict whether you will develop problems while taking this drug, let your healthcare provider know right away if you experience anything that "just does not seem right."
