Drug Interactions With Carvedilol CR

A number of medications may interfere with carvedilol CR, including calcium channel blockers, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and certain diabetes medicines. Some carvedilol CR drug interactions can increase your risk of developing potentially serious side effects, while others can affect the medication levels in your blood (which could reduce the effectiveness of the drugs).

Carvedilol CR Drug Interactions: An Overview

Carvedilol CR (Coreg CR®) can potentially interact with a number of other medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to drug interactions with carvedilol CR include (but are not limited to):

  • Certain arrhythmia medications, including:

 

    • Amiodarone (Cordarone®)
    • Disopyramide (Norpace®, Norpace CR®)
    • Lidocaine (Xylocaine®)
    • Propafenone (Rythmol®)
    • Quinidine
    • Sotalol (Betapace®)
