Cordarone 400 Mg

For treating potentially life-threatening heart rhythm problems, the usual dosage of Cordarone® (amiodarone hydrochloride) is 400 mg. However, you will likely be started on a higher dose, which will be gradually reduced. You will receive your first doses in the hospital, where you can be carefully monitored.

This prescription medicine is reserved for use in adults who have life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias and have not responded adequately to or cannot tolerate other medications. Cordarone works by prolonging the time it takes for the heart to respond to a new electrical signal, which may be trying to come through prematurely.
