As a diabetic, your risks for complications are higher. You may have fragile blood vessels that are more easily damaged during catheterization.
It is important for you to realize that you are more likely to have:
· A stroke or heart attack during or after the procedure
· A reaction to certain drugs used during the procedure
· An infection
· Kidney failure or kidney damage
· Delayed healing process.
Because of your risks involved with this procedure, it is essential for you to communicate with your team so they can be aware of any possible problems.
