After your EPS, your doctor will have important information related to the electrical activity of your heart.

If your treatment method is ablation, 90 out of 100 patients will have successful results, which is the correction of your abnormal heartbeat. In 10 out of 100, the abnormal heartbeat may return despite an initial successful result. This could occur within hours, days or weeks of the procedure requiring further treatment to correct it.

If your condition is treated with a drug, your in-hospital recovery may be longer. This is so your doctor can observe your response to this drug. With drug therapy, you may develop new abnormal heartbeats, even after successful treatment of your original problem. In 10 out of 100 patients who receive drug therapy, the treatment may make the arrhythmia or abnormal heartbeats worse. This situation would require additional treatment.

Patients whose abnormal heartbeats do not return within 3 months after the procedure have an extremely low chance of it ever returning.
