Heart Murmur Symptoms
In most cases, people with a heart murmur do not have any signs or symptoms. Some people, however, do have symptoms that signal a more serious heart condition. These symptoms may include chest pain, excessive sweating, fast breathing, and shortness of breath. Other heart murmur symptoms include dizziness, fainting, and fatigue.
Most people with a heart murmur do not have any symptoms. The murmur is usually innocent (harmless). However, some people do have heart murmur symptoms that signify a more serious heart problem.
These symptoms may include:
- Blue coloring of the skin, especially on the fingertips and inside the mouth
- Poor eating and failure to grow normally (in infants)
- Fast breathing
- Excessive sweating
- Chest pain
- Shortness of breath
- Fatigue (feeling very tired).
