Lanoxin Drug Information

Lanoxin® (digoxin) is a prescription drug used to treat:

Heart failure is a condition in which the heart does not pump enough blood to meet the body's needs. Lanoxin works to treat heart failure by helping the heart pump more efficiently, which allows more blood to be pumped from the heart. Atrial fibrillation is the most common type of abnormal heart rhythm. This condition occurs when the electrical system that controls the heartbeat is no longer working properly.

Lanoxin can be taken as a tablet or through an injection. Although the drug is generally well tolerated, it is not suitable for everyone. Before using Lanoxin, make sure your healthcare provider has up-to-date information on your medical history and a list of your current medications. In particular, let your healthcare provider know if you have kidney disease, heart problems, or any allergies.
