NitroMist Medication Information

Available by prescription only, NitroMist® (nitroglycerin spray) is a medication used to relieve episodes of chest pain (angina) in adults who have coronary artery disease. It comes in the form of a mouth spray, which is sprayed on or under the tongue. You can use up to three sprays within 15 minutes after angina has begun. If your chest pain is not relieved after the third spray, seek immediate medical attention.

NitroMist can also be used immediately before an activity that is expected to cause chest pain, such as exercise or sexual intercourse.

Because this medication is not suitable for everyone, review the safety information for NitroMist with your healthcare provider before starting treatment. For example, make sure your healthcare provider is aware if you have any other medical conditions, such as low blood pressure or any allergies, or are taking any other types of medicine.
