Tambocor Drug Information

People who have problems with their heart rhythm may receive a prescription medicine called TambocorTM (flecainide acetate). Tambocor comes as a tablet and is taken every 8 or 12 hours. Side effects may include dizziness, headaches, and vision problems. It is only approved for use in adults; however, there may be occasions where a healthcare provider will recommend using Tambocor in children.

While this medication may help prevent heart rhythm problems in many people, it is not appropriate for everyone. In fact, Tambocor can increase the risk for potentially life-threatening complications in some people. Before prescribing this drug, your healthcare provider needs information on your medical history and a current list of all medications, vitamins, and supplements you are taking.
