Cordarone should be stored at room temperature, in a tightly closed container, and away from light. Keep this and all other medications out of the reach of children and pets.
What Should I Do If I Miss a Dose?
If you miss your regularly scheduled dose, just skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose.
Cordarone tablets are available in one strength: Cordarone 200 mg. It used to be available in an injectable form; however, brand-name Cordarone injections are no longer available.
Amiodarone, the active ingredient in Cordarone, is available in an injectable form, either as an injection that must be mixed before use, or as amiodarone premixed injection (Nexterone®). Amiodarone is also available in 100-mg and 200-mg tablets as Pacerone®. Pacerone 200-mg and Cordarone 200-mg tablets are equivalent, which means they can be used in place of each other, if needed.
