Generic Name for Pacerone

Pacerone® (amiodarone hydrochloride) is a medicine prescribed in the treatment of certain irregular heart rhythms called ventricular arrhythmias. It comes in the form of tablets that are taken once or twice daily. Generic Pacerone tablets are available. These products are sold under the name Amiodarone and are only available in one strength.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has tested the generic versions of Pacerone and has determined that they are equivalent to the brand-name medication. However, the generic products may contain different inactive ingredients than the brand-name medication, which may cause problems for people with allergies or sensitivities.
