An Overview of Pentoxifylline Interactions
Pentoxifylline (
Trental®) is a prescription medication licensed to treat peripheral arterial disease (PAD). This product may potentially interact with many other medications.
Some of the medications that may lead to pentoxifylline drug interactions include but are not limited to:
- Celecoxib (Celebrex®)
- Diclofenac (Cambia™, Cataflam®, Flector®, Solaraze® Gel, Voltaren®, Voltaren® Gel, Voltaren®-XR, Voltaren Ophthalmic®, Zipsor™)
- Etodolac (Lodine®, Lodine® XL)
- Ibuprofen (Motrin®, Advil®, Nuprin®)
- Indomethacin (Indocin®, Indocin SR®)
- Ketoprofen (Orudis®, Actron®, Oruvail®)
- Ketorolac (Toradol®)
- Meloxicam (Mobic®)
- Nabumetone (Relafen®)
- Naproxen (Naprosyn®) or naproxen sodium (Aleve®, Anaprox®, Naprelan®)
- Oxaprozin (Daypro®)
- Piroxicam (Feldene®)

- Alteplase (Activase®)
- Reteplase (Retavase®)
- Streptokinase (Streptase®)
- Tenecteplase (TNKase®)
- Platelet inhibitors, such as clopidogrel (Plavix®) or prasugrel (Effient®)
- Theophylline (Uniphyl®, Theochron®, TheoCap®, Theo-24®, Elixophyllin®).
