Digoxin and Rythmol

Rythmol® (propafenone) is a medicine approved to treat certain heart rhythm problems in adults. Although this can be an effective treatment for many people, it may not be safe for use in those who are taking certain medications, including digoxin (Lanoxin®).
Combining Rythmol and digoxin could increase the amount of digoxin in your bloodstream. If your healthcare provider recommends taking these medications together, he or she may choose to monitor your digoxin blood level and adjust your dose if needed when you start or stop taking Rythmol.
(For more information, click Rythmol Drug Interactions. This full-length article describes the problems that may occur when Rythmol is combined with digoxin or certain other products.)
