Rythmol Uses

Is It Safe for Children to Use Rythmol?

Rythmol has not been adequately studied in children, and is not approved for use in this age group (usually defined as individuals younger than 18 years old). Talk to your child's healthcare provider about the risks and benefits of using this medicine in children.

Can Older Adults Use It?

Older adults can use Rythmol. However, there were not enough people over the age of 65 in clinical trials to determine whether older adults will respond any differently to the medication than younger age groups.

In general, because older adults are more likely to have other medical conditions that may increase their likelihood of experiencing Rythmol side effects, older adults should be started on lower doses and closely monitored.

Off-Label Rythmol Uses

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend this medication for treating something other than the conditions discussed in this article. This is called an "off-label" use. Rythmol may be prescribed off-label to:

  • Convert atrial fibrillation into a normal heartbeat
  • Treat heart rhythm problems in children
  • Treat Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome.
