Drug Interactions With Sotalol

A number of medications may cause drug interactions with sotalol, including digoxin, certain diuretics, calcium channel blockers, and other beta blockers. Some interactions can increase your risk of dangerous arrhythmias, while others can lead to dangerously high blood pressure, slow heart rate, or other problems. To help prevent such complications, tell your healthcare provider about all other medications you are taking.

Sotalol Interactions: An Overview

Sotalol hydrochloride (Betapace®, Sorine®) can potentially interact with several other medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to drug interactions with sotalol include but are not limited to:
 
 
 
  • Certain diuretics, such as:
 
 
  • Certain other arrhythmia medications, such as:
 
    • Amiodarone (Cordarone®, Pacerone®)
    • Disopyramide (Norpace®, Norpace CR®)
    • Dofetilide (Tikosyn®)
    • Flecainide (Tambocor™)
    • Ibutilide (Corvert®)
    • Procainamide (Procanbid®)
    • Propafenone (Rythmol®, Rythmol® SR)
