Common side effects of sotalol hydrochloride (
Betapace®,
Sorine®) include chest pain, fatigue, shortness of breath, and dizziness. Several less common problems were also reported, although it is difficult to tell whether they were actually caused by the drug or other factors. These reactions include muscle pain,
anxiety, and infections.
While some sotalol side effects may not be serious, certain problems should be reported to your healthcare provider immediately, such as rapid weight gain, fainting, or difficulty breathing. In addition, some people are more likely to experience problems than others, so tell your healthcare provider about all medical conditions you have before beginning treatment.
