Tambocor Drug Interactions

Disopyramide
Combining Tambocor with disopyramide may increase the risk for potentially serious heart rhythm problems. Because of this risk, the manufacturer of Tambocor recommends these medications generally not be used together, unless the benefits of using them outweigh the potential risks.
 
Etravirine
Etravirine may increase the level of Tambocor in the blood, increasing the risk for Tambocor side effects. Your healthcare provider may choose to monitor you more closely if you take these medications together.
 
QT-Prolonging Medications
In general, Tambocor should not be combined with any other medication that can cause QT prolongation (a certain change in the heart rhythm), due to the risk of a life-threatening abnormal heartbeat (heart arrhythmia).
 
Ritonavir
Ritonavir may increase blood levels of Tambocor, increasing the risk for serious side effects, including heart rhythm problems. The manufacturer of ritonavir recommends that these medicines should not be used together.
 
Saquinavir
Saquinavir may increase blood levels of Tambocor, increasing the risk for serious side effects, including heart rhythm problems. The manufacturer of saquinavir recommends that these medicines should not be used together.
 
Telaprevir
Telaprevir may increase the level of Tambocor in the body, increasing your risk for Tambocor side effects. Your healthcare provider may choose to monitor you more closely if you take these medications together.
 
Tipranavir
Tipranavir may increase blood levels of Tambocor, increasing the risk for serious side effects, including heart rhythm problems. Because of this risk, the manufacturer of tipranavir recommends that these medicines not be taken together.
