Missed Tikosyn Dose

Tikosyn® (dofetilide) comes as capsules that are taken twice daily to treat atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter. Try to take your doses at the same time each day to help keep an even level of the drug in your blood. If you happen to miss a dose of Tikosyn, just skip it and take your next dose at the regular time. Do not take a double dose.
Your initial Tikosyn doses will be given in the hospital. Two to three hours after you receive your first dose, your healthcare provider will monitor your heart rate and may reduce your dosage if needed. You will need to be monitored for at least three days in the hospital.
Your healthcare provider will continue to monitor your kidneys and heart rate at least every three months. If your kidney function worsens, your healthcare provider may recommend you stop taking Tikosyn or take a lower dose.
