Tikosyn Arrhythmia Medication

As a prescription arrhythmia medication, Tikosyn® (dofetilide) can help get an irregular heart rate back to a normal rhythm. This medicine is specifically approved to treat atrial fibrillation (commonly referred to as "a-fib") or atrial flutter. Tikosyn can also help maintain a regular heart rhythm.
 
The drug comes in the form of a capsule that is taken twice daily. You will receive your initial doses in the hospital and will need to be carefully monitored for at least three days.
 
Some of the potential side effects of this medication may include headaches, chest pain, and dizziness. Also, people who have certain medical conditions or who are taking certain medications may not be able to take Tikosyn safely.
