Tikosyn Contraindications

Before using Tikosyn® (dofetilide), make sure your healthcare provider knows if you have:
  • Kidney disease, such as kidney failure (renal failure)
  • A heart problem known as QT prolongation or long QT syndrome
  • Been told you have low blood potassium or magnesium levels
  • Any allergies, including to foods, dyes, or preservatives.
Tikosyn is not suitable for everyone. While some people simply require closer monitoring during treatment, other people will need to avoid this medication altogether. Contraindications for Tikosyn include being allergic to it, dofetilide, or any of the inactive components used to make the medication.
