Serious Side Effects

Some side effects of Tikosyn are potentially serious and should be reported immediately to your healthcare provider. These include but are not limited to:
 
  • Signs of an allergic reaction, such as:
 
    • An unexplained rash
    • Hives
    • Itching
    • Unexplained swelling, especially of the mouth, lips, or throat
    • Wheezing
    • Difficulty breathing or swallowing
 
  • An abnormal or fast heartbeat
  • Feeling faint or dizzy
  • Swelling of the arms, hands, legs, ankles, or feet
  • Loss of appetite
  • Sweating
  • Vomiting
  • Severe diarrhea
  • Increased thirst.
 
Because of the risk of life-threatening irregular heart rhythms with this medication, it can be started only in a hospital setting so that appropriate monitoring and emergency care can be provided. You will remain in the hospital for at least three days after beginning treatment.
