Following your tilt table test, your results will be studied and your doctor will discuss these with you. Most often, patients are given the results of the test right after they are finished. However, if the test was not done by your primary care doctor, the results may not be available until the next day.
It is reasonable to expect that in most cases your doctor will have more information regarding your symptoms.
Unfortunately, there is no test that is 100% accurate in diagnosing the cause for your syncope. In fact, as many as 47% or 47 out of 100 cases of syncope go unexplained.
As many as 60 out of 100 tilt table tests will diagnose simple fainting as the cause of the syncope. This rate has increased with the use of drugs that lower your blood pressure.
Based on the results of your test, you and your doctor can decide on a treatment plan or further tests that will benefit you most at this stage in your life.
You can also expect that in most cases, the benefits obtained from your tilt table test outweigh the risks involved.
